Before our class session, please watch the video below for an overview of the subject matter we will be discussing, and familiarize yourself with the background materials linked below.
The objective of this week’s session is to narrow the gap between your perception of reality, and reality. We will discuss how we end up with skewed or wrong information, before we even start any decision making process.

Homework
Whenever you go outside this week, try to objectively observe a person. Don’t draw conclusions, don’t pass judgment. Take notes on your observations. This will be used in the cohort discussion later.
Cohort
(30 minutes) Discuss the observations you made during the week. What did you see? If you notice your fellow cohort member reporting a conclusion or assumptions, notify them of it (e.g. “I saw a business woman” has at least two assumptions in there). It’s possible to go into absurdity with this. Feel free to do so.
(15 minutes) See what information you can gather from each other, just by watching each other and the environment visible in each other’s webcam. State facts, avoid conclusions. Discuss.
